Com Hem is to launch an on demand music channel in partnership with Universal Music. Digster Play will launch with a concert in Stockholm on August 25 featuring Jessie J. It will be followed by a series of monthly concerts taking place around Sweden and featuring some of the world’s most popular artists. No precise date has been given for the launch of the service itself.
Digster was developed by Universal Music as an online service, but is now making its TV debut on the Swedish cablenet, which already runs the Music Choice video service.
“This collaboration brings Com Hem another dimension to the on demand service. We have made music a clear component in addition to the thousands of on demand shows and movies available, said Annika Sten Pärson, sales and marketing director, Com Hem.
In addition to video playlists Digster Play will include interviews, backstage material and live shows.
