Belgian IPTV operator Belgacom TV has acquired the TV, PC and mobile rights of the Spanish and Portuguese football leagues.
Broadcasts will start with the Primeira Liga from Portugal, with the first game kicking off on August 13. Belgacom will air two games live each week. Belgacom TV customers also have access to the games on their PC, smartphones and tablets.
Live coverage of the Spanish Liga will start with the 2012/13 season and include magazine and background programmes.
The announcement comes at the time when Belgacom TV has lost the majority of the Belgian Jupiler League rights to the cablers Telenet and VOO.
