RCS&RDS posts loss

June 17, 2011 07.29 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Romania’s leading pay-TV company RCS&RDS has posted an unexpected loss for 2010, having made a net profit of RON211 million (€50.17 million) only a year earlier.

ZF reports that news about the loss – the amount of which has not been specified – has been published in the Official Gazette (Monitorul Oficial).

RCS&RDS is currently understood to have annual revenues of around $750 million (€529.9 million).

Besides being the leading cable and DTH provider through its Digi-branded services in Romania, it also operates the Digi DTH platform in five other CEE markets and has cable interests in Hungary and Slovakia.
