Russia’s Sistema Mass Media (SMM) is understood to have entered into an agreement with Samsung to provide Over-the-top (OTT) services.
The deal has been confirmed by both Artem Pereslavchev, a representative of SMM, and Olga Morozova, on behalf of Samsung, speaking to Vedomosti.
The services, which will include free movies and TV series and channels from Stream, will now be offered on a trial basis – a for a total of around 230 hours – until the end of the year.
SMM expects to have around 1 million viewers for its OTT services by the end of 2012.
