The Russian DTH platform Tricolor TV’s subscriber base rose by 10% to 8 million in the first four months of this year.
The news was given at a press conference in Moscow by its president Vladislav Mordachev, quoted by AKTR and CNews.
He added that 85% of Tricolor TV’s customers were now receiving pay-TV services and that the company expects the total subscriber base to grow to 10 million by the end of the year.
By comparison, the DTH platforms NTV-Plus and Raduga TV are currently estimated to have 630,000 and 100,000 subscribers respectively.
Mordachev also revealed that Tricolor TV saw its revenues grow by around R1 billion (€24.6 million) to over R3.3 billion in 2010, with the TV packages Optimum and Super Optimum contributing the most to the total.
ARPU in 2010 meanwhile rose by 12.5% to R441.
