Jiri Janecek is to step down as head of the Czech public broadcaster Ceske Televize (CT) on August 31.
According to E15, he announced his decision at a CT Council meeting, citing health reasons.
Janecek is the longest serving CEO of CT, having assumed the post in 2003 and being subsequently re-elected in 2009.
Petr Dvorak, the former head of the CME-owned commercial broadcaster TV Nova, is understood to be one of the front-runners for the position.
