Steve Jobs is set to unveil the new iCloud service at the Apple conference on Monday, June 6. According to US blog CNET.com, the new service could include the ability to store and stream movies from major Hollywood studios.
iCloud will enable users store and access their digital media from Apple’s servers via web-connected devices, anyplace, anytime, a technique that is now kwon as ‘the cloud’. Apple has onoy confirmed the upcoming announcment of iCloud, but is has become a tradition among US blogger to speculate about other possible announcements.
According to the report on CNET.com, Apple is trying to land deals with major Hollywood studios to include to ability to store and stream ‘official copies’ of movies in the cloud. Another guess is that iCloud will allow users to keep their music on the service, making it accessible from a variety of devices.
Apple has kept busy recently setting up licensing agreements with the likes of EMI Music, Sony Music and Warner.
