The Czech Radio and Television Council (RRTV) have begun proceedings to withdraw a digital TV licence held by the company EBD.
Digizone reports that the licence to operate a channel named TV7 was awarded to EBD in 2008. However, it failed to meet a 360-day deadline to launch the channel.
The move follows complaints by a rival company named Regio Media, which is owned by the national commercial broadcaster Prima TV, and has been criticised by EBD, which is owned by the entrepreneur Jaroslav Berka.
EBD maintains that the delay has been due to a carriage dispute – which has now been resolved – with the Czech Digital Group (CDG), the operator of the third DTT multiplex.
