The Russian CTC Media-owned channel DTV is likely be rebranded this autumn.
According to Kommersant, several new names – among them Perets TV – are being considered for the service, though such aspects as its target audience (viewers aged 25-45) will remain the same.
DTV was formed by two Russian entrepreneurs, who then sold 75% of the channel to MTG in 2001.
MTG acquired the remaining stake in 2004 but then sold it to CTC Media, in which MTG is the largest shareholder, four years later.
DTV aims to increase its audience share from 2.1% to 3.4% by 2015, partly though increasing reach and partly through more investment in content and in marketing activities.
CTC Media also operates the national channel CTC and Domashny, a channel aimed at a female audience.
