Film Europe Media Company has provided more details about its soon-to-be-launched Film Europe Channel.
Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, Film Europe founder and CEO Ivan Hronec said it will be the first premier film channel focused primarily on European cinematography, showing films in their original language with subtitles.
Launching in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, it will in due course become available in the rest of Europe, “while in the long run we plan to air to the whole world.”
He added that Film Europe Channel would air up to 400 films a year.
Film Europe Channel will make its debut this autumn in SD and subsequently in HD. It is also prepared to broadcast in 3D.
Its operator Film Europe, which has offices in Prague, Bratislava, Budapest, London and Cannes, already transmits the thematic channels Kino CS, Doku CS and Muzika CS.
