Customer demand for advanced services, such as HD, VOD and PVR, helped Israeli satcaster Yes push up ARPU by 2.2% in the first quarter. The Q1 figure came in at NIS 234 and followed a similar increase in the previous quarter.
The number of subscribers increased by 2,000 at 580,000.
“Yes continued to prove its capabilities in the first quarter, with a further increase in subscribers, revenues of NIS 406 million and operating profit of NIS 61 million. We expect 2011 to be full of challenges, but also opportunities. I am confident that we will continue to prove our capabilities in all areas and provide our customers with the best and most advanced viewing experience,” said Yes CEO Ron Elion.
Revenues in Q1 2011 came in at NIS 406 million compared to NIS 391 in comparable quarter. Operating profit was relatively stable at NIS 61 million.
