CME has invested over €8 million to date in Romania so that its three main TV channels in the country – Pro TV, Acasa TV and Sport.ro – can broadcast in HD.
The figure was provided by Claudiu Paraschiv, the head of technology at CME, quoted by Romania Insider and Balkans.com.
CME took the decision to make all its equipment HD in 2005 and began the conversion process the following year. Today, around 70% of the three channels’ output is in HD.
CME operates a total of six channels in Romania, the others being Pro Cinema, Pro TV International and MTV Romania.
