The leading Russian cable operator NKS has introduced a new HD package for its subscribers in Moscow.
According to AKTR and CNews, it consists of eight channels – Discovery HD Showcase, Animal Planet, MTVN, Fashion One, Eurosport, Mezzo Live, Outdoor Channel and Fox Life – and costs R250 (€6.25) a month to receive.
Up until now, it had only offerd one HD channel – MyZen in the basic OnLime package, which also costs R250 a month.
According to Andrei Golovanov, the deputy DG for programming policy and media at NKS, 2-3 more HD channels will shortly be added to NKS’ offer.
Akado, the leading provider of pay-TV services in Moscow, currently includes 14 HD channels in its offer. They are received by at least 17,000 of its subscribers.
