ANGA CABLE 2011 – COLOGNE. At the closing day of the show and conference, the organisers of ANGA Cable were jubilant about this year’s show. For the first time more than 16,500 trade visitors came to Cologne, representing an increase of 6% over last year’s attendance.
The number of visitors in the last five years has doubled. The number of exhibitors increased from 395 to 420, and the total floor space was also extended by 15%. 1,600 people attended the conference sessions.
Thomas Braun, president of ANGA, the association of German cable operators, said in a statement: “The broadband and TV industry is booming and the ANGA Cable show and conference offers the perfect marketplace. Particularly, the continuous fibre-optic expansion, and the market launch of hybrid TV services have proven to be a driver of innovation. ”
Herbert Strobel, chairman of the association of satellite and cable industry partners (ZVEI), also said it was a very successful event. “Our expectations have been exceeded again. The extension of the space for stands has proved a great success and contributed to a further appreciation of the event. ANGA Cable is clearly the number one for cable, broadband and satellite in Europe.”
Next year, ANGA Cable will take place later in the month of June 12 – 14, 2012. UK visitors will be pleased to see that they won’t have to travel to Cologne on a Bank Holiday Monday.
