TV services aid TDC

May 4, 2011 11.16 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Danish telco TDC saw its revenues grow by 0.9% year-on-year in the first quarter to DKK6,609 million (€886.2 million), helped in good part in what were difficult market conditions by its TV and TDC Nordic interests.

At the same time, its EBITDA rose by 1.2% to DKK2,712 million and profit by 166.7% to DKK704 million.

The company ended the first quarter with a total of 1,477,000 TV subscribers, or 13,000 more than three months and 63,000 more than a year earlier.

YouSee Clear had 1,180,000 subscribers in Q1, with YouSee Plus claiming 167,000 and TDC TV 130,000.

Significantly, TV RGUs grew by 4.5% due to the continued success of HomeTrio (take-up of duo and triple play bundles was up by 26.8% and 28.1% respectively) and YouSee, in part due to growing take-up of on demand services.
