The leading Ukrainian cable operator Volia ended the first quarter with over 490,000 subscribers to its digital TV services.
ProIT reports that the figure grew by between 4-5% in the quarter and that it should exceed half a million in the second quarter, given that in cities where digital TV services have just been introduced they have acquired 5-6,000 new subscribers.
Volia’s digital TV services are currently available in the capital, Kiev, and nine regional centres.
They will be launched in a tenth – Sumy – this May.
