The leading Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat has completed the acquisition of Telewizja Polsat in accordance with an agreement reached on November 15 last year.
Cyfrowy Polsat will pay PLN2.6 billion (€945.6 million of the agreed fee of PLN3.75 billion within in 48 days in cash and the remaining PLN1.15 billion in equity through subscription warrants for new shares.
The deal effectively creates the largest media company in Poland, encompassing a DTH platform with close to 3.5 million subscribers and the country’s leading national commercial broadcaster.
