DVB and ANGA are joining forces for a demonstration of the DVB-C2 technology at the ANGA Cable show in Cologne next month (May 3-5).
Booth L9 will showcase the first ever prototype for the technology, a Sony TV with integrated DVB-C2 tuner. The demo and information at the booth will be supported by DVB, ANGA, Sony and Kabel Deutschland.
The DVB-C2 was developed by the DVB Project team as the next generation successor to original digital cable transmission standard. It follows similar work on satellite and terrestrial systems that created DVB-S2 and DVB-T2.
The first live transmissions of DVB-C2 made at the Technische Universitaet Braunschweig, Germany on April 22, 2010. A field test was completed by Kabel Deutschland in the summer.
