Fox channel ups Russian presence

April 19, 2011 09.55 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Nat Geo Wild is to significantly increase its reach in Russia by switching satellite.

According to CNews, its operator Fox International Channels (FIC) will move the channel to the Express MD1 satellite at 80 degrees East, thereby making it available to viewers in Siberia and the Far East of the country.

FIC’s brands in Russia are represented by a company named Telco Media, which is providing the necessary technical support in receiving the channel from the new satellite.

Nat Geo Wild is currently one of seven FIC brands available in Russia.
