State Micro Technology Corporation (SMiT) has supplied a new secure Conax chipset pairing Conditional Access Module (CAM) to the Russian cable operator ER-Telecom.
It will be used to help ER-Telecom expand its HD services, branded as Divan-TV PLUS, which was launched earlier this year.
ER-Telecom operates in 25 Russian cities, providing cable TV (Divan TV), internet (Dom.ru) and telephony (Gorsvyaz) services by means of the Urban Universal Telecom Network, which employs FTTH technology.
