Russia’s MTS ended 2010 with 2.753 million pay-TV subscribers, or 30% more than a year earlier.
Its broadband subscriber total meanwhile stood at 1.805 million, a 39% increase on a year earlier.
The overwhelming majority of MTS’s pay-TV subscribers (2.661 million) were residential and located in the regions and CIS, while APRU for residential pay-TV and broadband in Q4 2010 stood at R204 (€5.07), or 36% more than the R150 posted in the corresponding quarter in 2009.
MTS is the leading mobile operator in Russia, with a market share of 32.6% in Q4 2010.
It grew its pay-TV subscriber total through the acquisition of a number of alternative operators in the Russian regions and its figures for the fourth quarter include the fixed businesses of Comstar-UTS and Multiregion.
