The Czech cable operator RIO Media has added the HD version of MTV and the kids channel Nickelodeon to its offer.
MTVNHD has been placed in the operator’s HD package, which costs CZK350 (€14.3) a month to receive, while Nickelodeon is part of a new package called TV Kids costing CZK125 a month.
RIO Media’s cheapest package, known as Mini TV, currently provides viewers with 20 channels, including Slovak services, TV Deko and Zone Romantica, and costs CZK99 a month for new customers for the first three months and CZK199 a month thereafter.
Its TV Klasika package meanwhile offers 52 channels for CZK249 a month for the first three months and CZK499 a month thereafter.
RIO Media is backed by Argus Capital Partners and currently has some 115,000 subscribers in mostly central and northern Bohemia and Moravia.
Its FTTH network is now the largest in the Czech Republic.
