UPC Romania bolsters internet offer

April 1, 2011 20.24 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

UPC Romania has significantly improved its internet offer, making Fiber Power 60 Mbps and 120 Mbps services available in a total of 13 cities. Up until now, the fastest speeds, of up to 100 Mbps, were offered in Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Deva, Arges, Focsani and Ploiesti.

These now receive its new offer, as do Bucharest, Constanta, Iasi, Braila, Galati, Roman and Buzau.

UPC Romania’s Fiber Power starts at 10 Mbps, costing RON15 (€3.64) a month, while the 120 Mbps service costs RON50 a month.

The operator points out that with only 42% of Romanians having internet access and 23% of them a broadband connection, the market is far from saturated.

Alongside the new internet offer, UPC Romania has also launched two new TV packages, named Galant and Cuceritor (‘Conqueror’).

The former includes the 96-channel Family package, 10 Mbps internet access and a free Mediabox and costs RON45 a month, while the latter includes the 113-channel Maxim package, 20 Mbps internet access, eight additional channels and a free Mediabox for RON70 a month.
