SES Astra has signed an agreement with Slovakia’s Towercom for an additional transponder on its 23.5 degrees East orbital position.
Towercom will use the capacity on the transponder from June 1 to strengthen the offer on the DTH platform Skylink, which operates in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Skylink has developed into the leading DTH platform in both countries since its re-launch in 2008, having to date distributed over 1.3 million smart cards.
With the deal, it will employ a total of four transponders at the 23.5 degrees East orbital position.
