Amino Technologies has received a further order from Telecom Italia as part of the rollout of the telco’s Cubovision ‘all in one’ multimedia broadband service.
Launched in December 2010, Cubovision offers home TV access to a range of digital terrestrial TV channels, leading web TV sources, and pay-per-view films as well as personal content such as photos, videos and music. The Cambridge developer has worked closely with Telecom Italia on the project, which is based on the Amino Freedom hybrid/OTT platform.
“Cubovision is a ground-breaking product which brings together a wide range of entertainment services into a single powerful device,” commented Amino CEO Andrew Burke.
The technology behind Cubovision features the Intel Atom processor CE4150, which is now featuring regularly in set-top orders. It is also powered by the first generation of the open source operating system MeeGo.
