Catch-up TV service TV4 Play is to appear as part of Samsung’s Smart TV offering. It means that TV4 Play’s premium customers will be able to enjoy content from the Swedish commercial channel across a wide range of connected TVs and Blu-ray players.
“We are very pleased to be working with Samsung. Offering TV4 Play Premium directly to your TV is in line with our strategy to distribute our on demand content on all platforms and give our viewers a greater choice and flexibility,” said Cecilia Beck-Friis, director of digital media, TV4 Group.
The TV4 application can be downloaded through Samsung’s Smart Hub. Premium customers will then log into their account from where they will be able to access content from across TV4’s pay-TV channels.
The first products with Samsung’s Smart TV services are now beginning to appear in stores. The TV4 app will also be available on the 2010 range of Samsung TV and Blu-ray disc products with internet access.
In November, Viasat OnDemand revealed plans to appear on connected TVs manufactured by LG Electronics for the Nordic region.
