The Polish commercial broadcaster TV Puls expects to make a decision on its planned second channel TV Puls 2 by the end of this April, with a view to launching the service at the end of this year or beginning of 2012.
The news was given by Dariusz Dabski, the president of TV Puls, in a wide-ranging interview with Wirtualne Media.
In it he added that much depends on whether or not TV Puls 2 will be granted must-carry status.
Although TV Puls works closely with TVN on ad sales, Dabski ruled out any possible deal that would see it acquired by a larger media group.
He also said TV Puls is aiming to raise its audience share in the target 16-49 age group from the current 2% to around 3% by the end of the year or beginning of 2012.
