Having been acquired by Epic, the Ukrainian incumbent telco Ukrtelecom is now effectively owned by five Austrian citizens.
Interfax reports that Epic Services Ukraine, a subsidiary of Epic Telecom Invest, now lists the Epic Managing Partners Peter Goldscheider, Gustav Wurmbock and Franz Lanschutzer as 24%, 24% and 5% shareholders respectively in the telco, while Bridget Goldscheider and Marina Wurmbock each own 23.5%.
The ownership breakdown was provided by Oleksandr Riabchenko, the head of the State Property Fund, who added that any future sale of Ukrtelecom would have to be approved by the Fund.
He also said that Epic had paid around UAH16 billion (€1.4 billion) for a 92.79% stake in the telco and that it needed an investment of at least $1 billion (€704.8 million).
