Belgian cable operator Telenet is no longer on the shortlist of potential buyers of the Belgian networks of Numericable, according to local newspaper De Tijd citing anonymous sources.
Local observers rated Telenet as the most likely candidate for picking up the Numericable network, which used to be the former Coditel of Brussels before it was acquired by the French operator.
However, the VOO Group, consisting of Tecteo and Brutélé, is still on the list. Also on the list is local businessman Philippe Lhomme and a group of private investors.
Commenting on the scenario, De Tijd observes that several sources point out that the sales process is not tightly structured and that Telenet might reappear on the shortlist.
