The Czech Republic’s second largest cable operator Nej TV plans to continue expanding this year through further acquisitions.
Speaking to E15, its chairman Nicolas Boisson said that the CZK100 million (€4.1 million) Nej TV’s owners BKS Cable received in a loan late last year – to which more money has since been added by private equity firms – will be used for promotional activities and to buy other operators.
He added that Nej TV, which previously operated under the name BKS Capital Partners, has invested around CZK1 billion in TV activities since 2008.
Nej TV currently has 75,000 TV, 25,000 internet and 9,000 telephony subscribers.
Boisson expects the internet subscriber total to rise to 29,000 by the end of this year.
