TDF, the French transmission company, is running HbbTV over the country’s digital terrestrial network. The interactive standard is being deployed using the DSM-CC Object Carousel solution developed by HTTV. As the first customer of the product, TDF is actively testing the potential of the standard on connected TVs and hybrid set-top boxes.
HTTV will be demonstrating the product at the IP&TV World Forum in London next week (March 22-24). HTTVStream HbbTV is based on the HTTVStream iTV solution, a DVB data streamer and real-time multiplexer for all types of interactive applications. It supports both static and real-time updates and filetypes from a variety of media sources. Versions are also available for OpenTV and MHP/GEM.
Several major operators are already using HTTVStream iTV to broadcast interactive applications and TV conten including Videocon, ERT, Digiturk, NTV+ and Etisalat.
