Russian cable operator Mostelecom is to offer CI Plus to its subscribers following a new win for the conditional access specialist Conax.
The operator, which serves more than three million subscribers in 95 districts in Moscow will also be able to take advantage of advanced chipset pairing.
In a statement Conax said it was selected on its robust security record in what is a price sensitive market. No royalty fees have been included in the agreement that will see the security company provide ongoing guidance and expertise.
“NCN (National Cable Networks) provides smooth migration of Mostelecom subscribers to the benefits of digital TV, said Alexander Tseitlin, CEO Mostelecom. Conax’ proven solutions and experienced personnel will provide a strong partner for further enabling NCN business models; secure and advanced digital TV offerings ensuring expectations for continued subscriber growth.”
