The Russian DTH platform Raduga TV now has 160,000 subscribers, according to its general director A. Sosnovskyj.
Quoted in the local press and Parabola, he added that it has sold 300,000 smart cards.
Raduga TV is one of a growing number of DTH platforms in Russia and the first to be backed by a foreign company, Modern Times Group (MTG) having acquired a 50% stake in the operation from Continental Media in February 2010 for an undisclosed fee.
Previously published figures put the total number of subscribers at 70,000 as of the end of 2009.
Raduga TV is distributed by ABS-1 at 75 degrees East and covers over 90% of Russia.
