The Polish DTH platform Cyfra+ has announced a number of important changes to its offer, along with price increases that come into effect in May.
As of March 7, the offer has included the HD channels HBO2 HD, HBO Comedy HD and Cinemax2 HD, to which will be added Canal+ HD on March 18.
This will bring the total number of channels in the format in Cyfra+’s offer to 18.
Cyfra+ will also introduce a new on demand service named Canal+ na zyczenie on March 18. It will be the third VOD service in its offer, the others being Cyfra+ VOD and HBO on demand.
The price increases, ranging from PLN1.10 (€0.28) and PLN10.10 per package, will be the first in two years and, according to Jacques Aymar de Roqefeuil, chairman of Canal+ Cyfrowy, have been brought about by rising inflation and an increase in VAT.
They are seen as necessary in order to maintain Cyfra+’s growth, the platform having already added 19 channels to its offer in 2010 and a further eight in Q1 this year.
