Increased take up of PVR, HD and VOD gave a welcome boost to the Yes DTH satellite service in 2010. The Israeli platform reported a 1.8% increase in segment ARPU in 2010 to NIS 230 (€45.88). However, Operating profit declined 28.2% to NIS 178 million in 2010, net loss increased 41% to NIS 314 million, while EBITDA declined 4.0% to NIS 463 million.
“Our top line growth in the fourth quarter and full year 2010 results reflect the successful ramp of our advanced paid services such as yes Max (PVR), yes MaxHD, and VOD service yes MaxTOTAL, as well as an increase in the number of total subscribers, despite a highly competitive market environment,” said Yes CEO Ron Eilon. “These advances also helped drive an increase in yes’ ARPU to NIS 231 in the fourth quarter 2010”.
Total Yes subscribers increased 1.2% in 2010 to approximately 578,000, an increase of 7,000 year-on-year and 3,000 in the final quarter of 2010.
