Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has significantly increased its presence in Russia through a terrestrial content deal for the Nickelodeon brand, as well as a number of new consumer product agreements.
In the former instance, the Russian network TNT has boosted its kids, tweens and teens programming with the acquisition of 250 hours of animated and live action programming from Nickelodeon. TNT already distributes a Nickelodeon branded block to over 80% of Russian TV households.
The consumer product agreements meanwhile span multiple categories including plush (C-Trade), personal care products (OOO Cotton Club) and apparel (TD Eldorado), along with outdoor and sporting items (C-Trade) and stationery (Academy).
Nickelodeon is on air for 24-hours daily in Russia and distributed by a number of leading cable, satellite and IPTV operators including NTV-Plus, Raduga TV, ER-Telecom, Akado, Rostelecom and Beeline.
