Sharp’s Aquos Net+ joins Viewster VOD

March 4, 2011 08.32 Europe/London By Robert Briel

VOD service Diva Viewster is to be made available by Sharp to owners of its connected TVs, BluRay players and other devices via its Aquos Net+ platform. Content will be available on a transactional basis, by subscription and selected titles free of charge.

Robert Franke, head of content at Diva AG, said in a statement, “Sharp is an exciting brand. We are pleased to partner with Sharp, and delighted that Viewster’s outstanding VOD offer will now be available to owners of Sharp equipment via Aquos Net+. Viewster offers must-see movies and TV series in a uniquely structured catalogue that will make it easy for Sharp connected device owners to find the programs they want to watch without having to navigate through thousands of titles.”

Sharp’s Aquos Net+ users will have access to Viewster’s catalogue in genres including action, comedy, thrillers and TV series. Brand new titles will be available Day and Date on a T-VoD basis. Additionally, current titles are complemented with selected, thematically related, movies and series which Aquos Net+ users of Viewster will be able to watch as free VOD content.

Sharp Aquos Net+ users in expatriate communities will also now be able to locate and view top quality minority content, with the best Turkish, Russian and Arabic movies and drama series on offer via the Viewster widget.
