Russia’s NTV-Plus has secured the exclusive rights to the SOGAZ Football Championship for the 2011/12 season.
This follows an agreement, worth $60 million (€43.2 million), that the satellite platform signed with the Russian Premier League yesterday (March 3).
Under the terms of the deal, one game from each round of games will be broadcast on a federal channel.
NTV-Plus will have the right to show all the games on the proprietary channels NTV-Plus and Sport-Plus, the latter of which is available to over 9 million homes.
The 2011/12 football season in Russia will run for a total of 18 months.
