The Russian channel CTC International has made its debut in Germany, its operator CTC Media having signed an exclusive agreement to distribute the service via the Kartina TV IPTV network.
The agreement also includes a one-year right to sublicence CTC International to other IPTV networks in most other European countries.
CTC International is now available in three countries, having launched on the Yes satellite platform and HOT cable network in Israel in June 2009 and the US six months later.
It offers programming from the three CTC Media channels in Russia – CTC, Domashny and DTV – and has a potential audience of around 15 million, a third of who are in Germany.
Its future plans include expanding its footprint in Europe and into Canada.
