Poland’s TVN is bullish about the prospects for its new generation DTH platform n, which it expects to deliver positive EBITDA for the full year and break even on net free cash flow by year-end. This will be through its subscriber base rising to 1 million high ARPU-HD customers, including 100,000 receiving pre-pay HD services.
Results published by TVN show that n ended 2010 with almost 805,000 active subscribers, gaining 66,000 in Q4 alone, while the pre-paid service TNK had almost 322,000 active customers, including 31,000 receiving its TNK HD service.
N subscriber numbers were up 16% year-on-year, while its ARPU was up by 5% following a price increase in 2010.
TNK’s subscriber base meanwhile increased by 23% year-on-year, with revenues up by a factor close to 3.5x.
Overall, n’s revenues increased by 38% during the year to PLN613 million (€201.6 million).
