Kabel Deutschland has announced it has purchased the Berlin cable network BMH Berlin Mediahaus GmbH (BMH,) serving 60,000 homes in the German capital.
The operator has acquired 100% of the shares in the cable company, which belonged to the housing association GSW Immobilien AG (GSW). With the acquisition, KDG has secured Level 4 access to these Berlin customers.
Kabel Deutschand already serviced these homes though a wholesale contract with the cabler, but now the operator owns direct access to these homes.
Adrian von Hammerstein, president of Kabel Deutschland, said in a statement: “The long-term good cooperation with the housing industry is of great importance to us. So I am very excited about the acquisition of BMH, which allows 60,000 households long-term access to our TV, internet and telephony products. “
