Hybrid and online TV, in addition to analogue switch off in April 2012, will feature strongly at this year’s ANGA Cable show and congress, which will take place in Cologne from May 3-5.
The news was given by Dr Peter Charissé, MD of ANGA Cable, who added: By spring next year more than five million analogue satellite homes will have to be equipped with digital reception devices. Add to that the upgrading of many thousands of cable headends. This has to be arranged for now and at the right time ANGA Cable provides the best market place for manufacturers, trade and network operators. We have already received bookings from more than 380 exhibitors from 34 countries. Due to the many demands for growth we have increased the net floor space by approximately 15 %.”
There will be nine strategy panels, dealing with such topics as next generation networks, open access, analogue switch off, hybrid TV, interactive TV, 3D TV, pay-TV, VOD and smart home. The agenda of the 10 technology panels lists topics such as hybrid services, DOCSIS 3.0, FTTH business models, over the top TV, RF over Glass, next generation headends, IP services, and upgrade scenarios for the analogue satellite switch off.
ANGA Cable is organized by the Association of German Cable Operators (ANGA) and supported by ZVEI (Satellite & Cable). It will be sponsored by Alcatel-Lucent, ASTRA Deutschland, AVM, Discovery Networks Deutschland, Nagravision, QVC and Unitymedia.
