Conax is to supply content protection technology to the recently launched Russian DTH platform Telekarta TV.
According to Conax, key factors in the contract between the two parties include “Conax’ benchmark policy for ‘freedom of choice’ of security-evaluated client devices, combined with no royalty fee and a wide range of client devices already available to the end consumer in the Russian market.”
Telekarta TV, which is operated by Telekarta LLC, made its debut in 2010.
Distributed by Intelsat-15 at 85.15 degrees East, it is available throughout most of Russia, offering viewers 17 channels for R2 (€0.05) a day, or R600 a year.
