February 7, 2011 11.15 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Russian IPTV service Beeline TV, which is operated by Vimpelcom, now has over 100,000 subscribers.

According to CNews, Beeline TV was already available in 18 cities as of the end of 2010 and will be introduced in a further three this year.

Vimpelcom is also developing its FTTB network, and as of the end of 2010 the Beeline home internet service was available in 83 Russian cities.

Traffic on the FTTB network, which was 107km long (excluding local support networks) in 2010, grew by more than 40% last year.

The latest estimates put the number of IPTV homes in Russia at around half a million.
