YouSee on a roll

February 3, 2011 10.38 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Denmark’s leading cable operator YouSee ended 2010 with 1,818,000 Revenue Generating Units (RGUs), or 3% more than a year earlier.

Its pay-TV customer total stood at 1,336,000 (+2.8%), with 1,176,000 (+2.0%) receiving the YouSee Clear offer and 160,000 (+9.6%) YouSee Plus.

Total TV ARPU grew by 7.4% in 2010 from DKK188 (€25.2) to DKK202, with that for YouSee Clear rising by 6.2% to DKK188 and for YouSee Plus by 3% to DKK103.

Overall ARPU (DKK268, +8.1%) was significantly boosted by growth in usage of add-on services such as VOD, with over 420,000 films being rented by YouSee’s customers in 2010, or five times more than a year earlier.

YouSee’s total revenues in 2010 amounted to DKK4,102 million, or 11.5% more than a year earlier, with YouSee Clear claiming DKK2,646 million (+8.8% y-o-y) of the total and YouSee plus DKK197 million (+31.3% y-o-y).

YouSee’s gross profit in 2010 was DKK2,357million (+13.8%) and EBITDA DKK1,353 million (+18.6%).
