SPI International plans to launch a second channel in Poland that uses the Kino Polska brand.
According to Satkurier, the service, known as Kino Polska Muzyka, has already received a licence from the country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) and will make its debut in the next two to three months.
SPI International currently distributes the channels Kino Polska, Filmbox, Filmbox Extra, Filmbox Family and Filmbox HD in Poland.
Kino Polska was launched in 2003 and has been part of the SPI stable for the last four years. Three further channels – FashionBox, ActionBox and FightBox – are due to be added to the company’s portfolio later this year.
SPI International has been present in Poland since 1999 and operates in the country as SPI International Polska.
The movies it distributes can already be watched on an on demand basis on a number of platforms, to which Cyfrowy Polsat and the internet-based Ipla will shortly be added.
