The Polish interactive media platform Ipla has become available on Sony TV sets with Bravia Internet Video, as well as PS3 consoles, Blu-ray discs, home cinema and Media Box.
IPLA is owned by Redefine, a company backed by the leading Polish commercial broadcaster Polsat, and carries over 15,000 video clips, equivalent to around 7,500 hours of viewing. Most of the content is sourced from Polsat owned services.
Since last month, Sony has also had an agreement to distribute programming from TVN, Poland’s other leading commercial broadcaster.
Separately, Rzeczpospolita reports that Redefine had revenues of PLN20 million (€5.16 million) in 2010 and expects to increase them by 50% this year.
It adds that the DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat will work together with Ipla on the launch of a catch-up TV service later this year.
