Dutch private broadcaster SBS is currently negotiating 24/7 carriage of its planned Secret Story channel, the Big Brother type programme that is scheduled to launch on Net 5 on Sunday, February 13.
Net 5 will broadcast Endemol’s Secrte Story for one hour every day at 7.30pm, but will also launch a dedicated channel. The programme was developed by Endemol France and has been a huge success on TF1.
Fifteen candidates are locked up in a house and each of the contestants has a ‘secret’. Endemol profiles the new show as ‘televsion 2.0″, as extenive use will be made of social media including Twitter, Facebook and the Dutch site Hyves.
Like Big Brother, a dedicated digital 24/7 channel is part of the format. SBS is currently talking to all major platforms in the country, including UPC and Ziggo, to secure carriage of the event channel.
