VolgaTelecom has become the latest company in Russia to launch an IPTV service.
Available in the telco’s entire coverage area of the Volga region, it offers viewers over 100 TV channels in seven thematic packages, one of which is exclusively HD, along with such additional features as VOD.
VolgaTelecom is the largest telco in the Volga region and currently in the process of being re-organised, along with other Svyazinvest companies, by being merged into Rostelecom to create a national telecommunications operation.
It already has a presence in the TV industry, claiming 277,500 subscribers to its cable and terrestrial services at the end of Q3 2010. It also then had over 1.1 million broadband internet customers.
