Dutch DTH platform Canal Digitaal Satelliet has launched a so-called ‘smart pack’ comprising a CI module, smart card and satellite dish for reception of the service by a certified or compatible TV set with integrated satellite tuner.
The new smart pack includes installation of the dish and set-up of the TV receiver by a certified installer. The packs are available from a large number of retailers including BCC, EP, Expert, Euronics, Electroworld, Harense Smid, Media Markt, Maxwell, Mikro Electro, Scheer & Foppen and a large number of specialist satellite shops. The cost of the smart pack is between €0 and €99, depending on the subscription package purchased by the customer.
Last November, Canal Digitaal announced that it had certified a number of Samsung TV sets for reception of the DTH platform. For a list of all certified sets, click here. Just recently, the operator gave certification to a model from TechniSat, the TechniLine 32 HD LCD Benelux Edition.
Canal Digitaal has now extended the service to other manufacturers who supply suitable receivers. For the moment, only selected models from Loewe are listed as compatible receivers with the CI module.
